Main tasks:

  • To provide radiological protection advice for Dounreay site. This will take the form of written or verbal advice given on plant or at meetings. You may be required to work in confined spaces on occasion.
  • You must be able to rapidly evacuate the criticality zone, if necessary, without assistance or causing a delay to others.
  • You will be expected to deliver training/workshops – can be up to 3 hours long
  • This job is on average 50% office based, and plant based. You may be asked to work at height very infrequently, there may be long spells of standing observing
  • Support emergency arrangements – on call duties

Equipment:

All employees will be fully trained and competent in the use of the equipment recorded below.

  • ·Computer equipment including laptop
  • ·Standard health physics instruments
  • Personal and radiological equipment such as respirators

  • Outside areas including potential offsite areas up to 200 miles away from site
  • Office
  • Construction sites and foreshore areas which could have uneven ground
  • Can sometimes work in noisy environments
  • Prolonged barrier work
